I am a 14 year old freestyle park scooter rider and have competed in national competitions for over 2 years. I train daily, think about learning new tricks, my flow and progression. I am very proud and passionate and have lots of fun riding and it’s a great way to keep fit, build friendships and keep mentally healthy. In good and bad times, scootering is the answer! I am often asked to teach other riders so patience and good role modelling is very important.

In January 2024 I qualified for the NZ scooter team to compete in the World Skate Games in Rome, Italy in September 2024. It is very important to be part of the World Skate games as it will help me get experience on the world stage (skill and mental ability), promote and encourage female riding, represent my country and get to join other girls/women from around the world who share my passion. Girls often don’t scooter because of risk of hurting yourself or injury but you heal and it’s a great friendly scooter community.

I am grateful for the generous support of the Bobby Stafford-Bush Foundation to help with trip costs, it’s such a long way to get to European competitions. It has made such a difference. My ultimate goal is to be part of the NZ scooter Olympic team should scootering become part of the Olympics in 2028.

Thank you so much again.
